With most of the salon still shut down, we have come up with 6 DIY fixes to take care of your skin during the quarantine.

1.Baking Soda Scrub

Baking soda is not just good for the kitchen but in front of the mirror as well. It can be used as a face cleanser for sensitive skin. You can use it to scrub your face and rinse it with water.

To make baking soda scrub:

  • Take 3 parts baking soda
  • 1 part water
  • Make a paste

2. Steam Massage in Shower

While you can’t get a facial massage in a spa, you can definitely try it in the shower. While taking a steam shower, try to give your face a massage. It will help you to get a radiant skin.

For a steam massage:

  • Follow a circular motion with your fingers
  • Start at the cheekbones
  • Work down to the jawbones

3. Exfoliate With Hot Water Washcloth

Exfoliating is good for your skin as it removes the barrier of dead skin that is clogging and uncovers fresh new cells.

To exfoliate with washcloth:

  • Drench the washcloth in warm water and wring it
  • Place it on your face for a few seconds
  • Massage using upward movement and circular strokes

4.Lip Scrub and Oil

Scrubbing your lips and applying lip oil will enhance your lip colour. It will also make you look more vibrant.

To make a homemade lip scrub:

  • Combine honey and sugar in a bowl
  • Add olive oil
  • Add a bit of vaseline if your lips are dry
  • Store it in a container

To make homemade lip oil:

  • Melt shea butter
  • Pour in some coconut oil
  • Add some beetroot powder and mix well
  • Store it in an empty lip gloss tube

5.Homemade Face Mist

Homemade Face Mist

Face mist can be refreshing and hydrating for the skin. It can work in different ways depending on how you make it.

To make homemade face mist:

  • Mix clean water with grated cucumber water
  • Add a little rose water
  • Add 4-5 drops of essential oil

You can green tea, aloe vera, Vitamin E tablet, tea tree oil, or lavender oil depending on the purpose.

6.Under-eye Care

The under-eye gel can help you reduce dark circle, wrinkles, bags and puffiness under the eye.

To make homemade under-eye gel:

  • Take 1 tbsp cucumber juice
  • 1 tbsp aloe vera
  • 2 Vitamin E Capsules
  • Mix well and store it in a container
